Visioning Jam: Addressing Homelessness

Project Context

Homelessness Action Week (HAW ) is an annual regional Metro Vancouver campaign aimed at raising awareness and building community capacity and partnerships for local solutions to homelessness. In connection with Metro Vancouver’s 8th annual Homelessness Action Week (HAW) the City of Vancouver is once again offering grants to Vancouver community groups that want to host an event or to do a project that keeps within the spirit of HAW.

The purpose of this Jam was to support the kick-off of the HAW grant program.

The maximum individual grants are $3,000 and the deadline for submission is the end of May. Winning submissions will be announced in late July with the intent that the events and/or projects will be held during the Homelessness Action Week in early October.

The Design Nerds recognize that Homelessness is a very complex, weighty topic that touches on multiple layers of society. We brought local community groups, policy makers, front line workers to the table along with interested citizens of varying ages to help deepen the dialogue and expand the possibilities of solutions to homelessness.
