Design Nerd Jam 5.3 – Pedal Powered Railway Parade
Put on your conductor caps and come ready to roll! The next Nerd Jam on April 1 will be hosted by the Gramorail Crew. Come out to help plan the long-anticipated Pedal Powered Railway Parade! The Gramorail will take its maiden voyage down the Arbutus Corridor, and we need you to help make the Parade awesome.
To recap: We built these pedal-powered railway machines with the hope that, someday, we’d take them down the Arbutus Corridor, and in so doing, freak a lot of otherwise normal people out, some of which, upon seeing a gramorail-laden steel and wood contraption gliding effortlessly across Broadway as a gaggle of strangely dressed weirdos make grand sweeping gestures and play improvised instruments, reconsider their own myopic little world and decide to take up Balinese monkey chanting.
Or something to that effect.
The parade will be this summer. Other than that, nothing’s really set in stone. Only one thing is certain: this has never been attempted before. And so…
WE NEED YOUR HELP!
Things to think about:
How can this parade be more awesome?
Where could it be along the Corridor?
What kind of ridiculousness can we foster?
What kinds of music shall accompany our procession?
Do we accept Translink passes?
Bring your 2-minute pitches to the Jam. You can bring an USB stick if you have pictures, or load something from the web. Nothing is too weird or too mundane. We welcome all ideas!
See you Friday
